Joshua Lawyer

Born and raised in East Palo Alto, California, Joshua's childhood was marked by challenges and constant movement, having lived in 14 different homes by the age of 20. He grew up in a strong Tongan family, beautiful and rich in tradition. Although one of heavy artistic influence, his culture and community discredited the possibility of him pursuing art full-time, but the prolific subculture of the 90’s Bay Area street art scene ignited his passion and he never looked back.

As Joshua’s artistic journey deepened, he became increasingly drawn to murals as a medium for expressing his personal narrative, with a desire to create lasting connections through storytelling. Each mural became a mechanism for his ideas and an invitation for viewers to explore and connect with their own experiences.

Through bold, visual language, Joshua’s specialization lies in creating figurative pieces centered around the recurring themes of “getting lost” and “finding home.” He has found a home alongside his talented wife MJ Lindo, their vibrant household built on a foundation and shared commitment to creativity and expression.
